Bella entered the Hale house, she yawned and followed the others into the living room. She took a seat at the corner of the sofa and leaned against it needing to just rest her eyes for only a moment. As the others gathered around and talked amongst each other she curled up in a ball and closed her eyes.

Stiles walked past Derek, not stopping when the alpha asked him where he was going. “Bella’s asleep on the couch, I’m getting her a blanket. Or I’m sucking up to my big sister, because I’m her favorite person ever.”

“Why is she sleeping?” Derek questioned following Stiles.

Stiles shrugged. “I don’t know.” He looked around the guest bedroom, trying to find a blanket for her sister. “I think she went out last night with some business people, she must’ve gotten home late.”

“She went on a date?” Derek questioned his eyebrows scrunching together in confusion.

Stiles laughed, “I doubt it, if I didn’t know any better I would think she and I liked the same sex. But then again you never really know with Isa, she could always accept the random date. Honestly, I don’t think she’s dated anyone since her fiancé… but that was two years ago.”

“Fiancé?” Derek questioned trying his best to tame the wolf in his head.

Stiles nodded, “Oh yeah, she left him at the altar.” Stiles laughed, “She walked down the aisle, and when the priest asked if anyone had any objections Isa let go of his hands and dashed down the aisle. Dad and I chased after her, it was pretty entertaining when you look back at the wedding video.”

Stiles paused as he was halfway out the door. “Do me a favor, don’t tell her I told you. She’ll kill me, this is sort of her dirty little secret.”

Derek nodded, “Go give her the blanket and hurry up, the pack is anxious for pack night to start.”

Derek took a seat on his loveseat and while everyone was watching the movie on the screen he was partially focused on Bella. He could hear the calming beat of her heart, and he could feel the contentment that she was experiencing in her dreams. It wasn’t until another hour later that he heard the difference in the beat of her heart. His head turned to her in alarm as she let out a scream and jumped off knocking Stiles over who was sitting on the floor in front of her.

Bella’s eyes were wide as she looked around the house and in a second, she was running out of the door, her heart beating rapidly, and she needed air. She ran into the woods and fell against a tree; her heart was still beating hard against her chest and the memories of her dreams were stuck inside her head. She pulled her knees into her chest and tried as best as she could to still her beating heart.

“Izzy.” Stiles whispered moving to sit beside her. “Want to go home and play a riveting game of Mario Kart?”

Bella didn’t respond right away, taking a few moments to catch her breath. “You’re a sore loser.”

Stiles laughed, “As if you ever win.” He looked over at Derek who just stood watching them. “Really, she doesn’t win at all.”

Bella looked up and met Derek’s eyes. “Sorry for the interruption.” Bella stood and dusted herself off. “I think I’ll just head home for the night.”

“You can’t drive like this.” Derek responded moving to stand in front of her to stop her from leaving.

Bella smirked, “You can’t stop me, Derek. Besides I’m fine it was a nightmare that I’m over and I’m going to be okay. I’ll send a text when I get home if it makes you feel better.” She moved past Derek and started making her way to her car. She turned to Stiles as she opened the door to her car. “Get home on time, I don’t want Dad thinking you’re out partying, he calls me when he’s worried and I don’t want to be woken up.”

Stiles smirked, “Well, why do you have to be such a goody two shoe? If you had just been more of a troublemaker when you were my age than Dad wouldn’t have such high expectations, would he?”

Bella rolled her eyes, “I’ll tell dad about what really happened to the tree in the front yard.”

“Safety is first, so I’ll be home safe and sound by curfew.” Stiles responded, he gave Bella a hug before running back inside the home.

Bella got inside the house but before she could close the door to her car, Derek was holding it open. “I’ll be fine.”

Derek nodded, “Message when you get home.”

Bella smiled, “Yes, sir Alpha.” Bella responded with a smirk. “Don’t worry about me, I’m going to go home and just sleep. I’ll see you tomorrow, Derek.”

Derek nodded stepping back and letting her close her door. His wolf had practically preened at haring her call him Alpha.”

Derek opened the door to his loft to see Bella standing there with her laptop bag and two coffees. He moved aside letting her step into the loft. “Feeling better?” He questioned rubbing his face to try and remove the sleep from his eyes.

“Yes. I only get nightmares once or twice a month, they’re just intense so when I wake up it takes me a moment to realize that it’s not really happening.” Bella responded with a smile. “Here, black with an extra shot of energy. I have no idea how you survive on so much caffeine.”

“Wolf capabilities, I can survive just about anything.” Derek responded watching as Bella headed towards his kitchen.

“Not anything, or do I need to remind you that I could kill you in the blink of an eye? Never get too cocky, Derek, it’s a weakness.” Bella responded setting her bag down. “I’ll make breakfast while you do your morning workout, because you just have to be in better shape than everyone else in this town.”

Derek smirked, “I could always help you work out, you might need it.”

Bella smiled sweetly. “Don’t make me poison your food, because I will, and you’d never know.”

Derek laughed lightly before walking away. Even though he wasn’t near her he could still hear the beat of her heart. He didn’t know when the routine of Bella coming over every morning just to sit with him started, but he was grateful for it. She had been his secret obsession throughout high school. She was the girl that skipped a few grades, the only person in their high school to graduate at 15, and the three-year difference did nothing to stop him from crushing on the girl. When high school was done he was a bit saddened to know that she had left almost immediately after her graduation to Washington.

Derek smiled at the memory when she came back, she had been waiting for Stiles outside of their home and had been just as surprise to see him as he was to see her. Before then he hadn’t connected the dots between her and Stiles. But seeing them together he saw the physical resemblance and he could feel the tight connection between the two.

It hadn’t taken long to see that although she had grown physically, she was still the beautiful, kind and smart girl she was in high school. The only difference now was that Derek could see that there was an edge to her, something dark that lurked deep down. It was when Stiles was put in danger that he saw it come out of her, saw her brown eyes turn dark and cold, and the tips of her hair burn a bright red. The sweet girl he was accustomed to disappeared and a vengeful one took her place.

After that it didn’t take much questioning for her to admit that something had changed in her when she moved to Washington. Something inside her had broken to pieces and when it finally got put back together again there was something new added. As Bella had explained it her family were vulnerable to the Earth, to the power of the core of the earth making them a strong brand of creature. A creature that can only rise from the ashes of the soul. To this day, Bella had never explained what crushed her soul, and he doubted she would anytime soon. But as Stiles hinted he thinks it had something to do with the death of her father when she was 18.

Derek hadn’t even noticed that he was almost done with his workout, he was so lost in his thoughts that his body had just gone into autopilot. He finished up the last of his morning routine before heading out to the kitchen to find two plates set up on the counter, but Bella was nowhere in sight. He followed her scent and her heartbeat and found her outside of his front door on the phone.

“They loved your book, they’re preparing an offer for you and it should be sent over to you in a few days.” The unknown man’s voice said through the phone.

“Great, thank you.” Bella said unaware of Derek leaning against the door.

“I have a reservation for tonight to celebrate. Would you like to join me for dinner?” The man questioned.

“I’ll have to take a rain check, I have plans tonight. Maybe another night, tonight I plan to celebrate with my family. I should get going, I’ll talk to you soon.” Bella said hanging up the phone. She took in a deep breath. “Eavesdropping is an invasion of privacy.”

“I have great hearing, I could have heard you from a mile away. You ready to have breakfast or do I have to wait for you turn down one of your suitors?” Derek questioned lifting an eyebrow.

Bella laughed, “Let’s eat Sourwolf, I’m starving.”

“I told you stop calling me that.” Derek responded following her into the kitchen. “Stiles has started calling me that now.”

“Well yeah, he’s the one who came up with it, I was just the one who said it to you first.” Bella responded with a smile.

“Why do you always hangout with, Derek?” Stiles questioned as he and Bella were headed out to grab a bite to eat together.

Bella shrugged, “I didn’t have the best time in high school, but Derek was always nice to me. He defended me a few times, so I know he’s a nice guy. He’s not as bad as you think he is, and I like hanging out with him.”

“I wasn’t saying he’s a bad person, he’s just always so grumpy, and you’re, well you’re always not grumpy. I just don’t understand how you two get along.” Stiles responded with a shrug of his shoulders. “I guess that’s just me though.”

Bella smiled, “Derek isn’t always grumpy, trust me I spend more time with him than you do. We’re actually friends.”

“Technically, we’re all pack soo….” Stiles responded with a smirk.

Bella rolled her eyes, “You’re not a wolf, and you’re so not allowed to take the bite unless you’re of legal age. If you do I’ll tell dad.”

Bella curled herself up in her blanket she didn’t want to get out of bed this morning, all she wanted was to stay in her little blanket of warmth. She knew her eyes were dark and her hair was burning, but she couldn’t control the change, there was too much anger and sorrow for her to control it so easily.  She had already messaged everyone she knew to tell them she wished to be left alone for the remainder of the day, she told them all she was sick and thankfully for her they all seemed to believe her.

Bella closed her eyes and her mind drifted off to Charlie. She missed him, and her heart ached for the man that was her father. She had always been proud to say that she two dads who were cops, Charlie might not have been her blood, but he was her dad and she loved him.  She loved him just as much as she loved John, and it hurt her to lose him. Losing Claudia was painful, but her death was an end to a painful illness, and she didn’t ever really know Renee well enough to feel the pain of her loss. Now all she had in her life was Stiles and her dad and today was just a painful reminder that she could lose them in the drop of a hat.

“Bella.” Derek called entering her apartment.

Bella pulled the cover over herself trying to hide herself in the darkness and warmth of her blankets. “Just go away.”

“No.” Derek responded entering the room and slowly made his way towards the bed. “You’re not okay.”

Bella didn’t respond, she lay as still as possible and just focused her mind on the sound of Derek breathing. Minutes passed with Derek sitting on the edge of her bed and her curled up in a ball until she finally took in a deep breath before breaking the silence. “I miss my dad.” She whispered quietly.

“I didn’t know you had two dads.” Derek admitted. “Until Stiles told me about it.”

Bella peeked her head out of the cocoon of her blankets, and looked to Derek, she was grateful that he didn’t comment on her appearance. “My dad, John, saved some of his sperm just in case he and his wife ever needed it, and Renee to entrap my other dad Charlie got inseminated, there was mixup and instead of using donated sperm they used John’s . When I was 2 my parents split up and when I was 6 my mom died and on her death bed she told Charlie what happened. When I was 7 the clinic called and admitted they made a problem and that my biological father wanted to meet me. In the end, Charlie and John got along well, so they shared custody of me. When Claudia died I moved in permanently with John because I wanted to be with Stiles, and when I graduated I moved back to Washington to spend time with Charlie.”

Derek made himself comfortable on the bed and nodded, “Did you even like it here in Beacon Hills?”

“Mostly. I’ve always loved school, so I always enjoyed my classes, the kids however were awful.” Bella responded sincerely, she looked up to Derek. “Except you, you were always nice to me.”

“Tell me about Charlie.” Derek responded.

Bella sat up and moved to sit against the headboard of the bed, she tugged Derek over and once he was sitting beside her she rested her head on his shoulder. “He’s always been really amazing. Charlie used to be the Chief of police in town, and everyone knew who he was. When he…”

Bella’s hair flamed to life again and she quickly moved to cocoon herself again when Derek stopped her. “What did you end up doing after high school?”

“I attended UW, I got my master’s in school counseling, and a Bachelor’s in literature.” Bella responded quietly.

“Stiles says you’ve written a book.” Derek continued noticing that Bella had maneuvered herself to rest her head on his lap.

Bella nodded. “I did. Sold 7.8 million copies, I’m publishing another one soon.”

“What are they about?” Derek questioned feeling more relaxed now that Bella was calming down.

“They’re sort of fiction.” Bella responded with a shrug. “This new one is the unexpected sequel to the first one.”

Bella sighed and closed her eyes. “Can you just stay with me in the quiet, Derek?”

“I can stay.” Derek responded, he watched Bella move around and he followed her order for him to lay down too. He had to contain the practical growl of contentment that was coming from his wolf when Bella moved closely to him her head resting in the crook of his neck and her arms holding him tightly. He held her and softly rubbed her back trying to help her ease the pain that she was feeling.

Finally her breathing slowed and her hair returned to normal, and she was asleep with her grip still tight around Derek. Derek closed his eyes and let himself relax into the bed.

Hours later Derek was awake as he could hear Bella begin to wake from her sleep. “If I order in food, will you eat?”

“If you order good food. I don’t eat meat, Derek, so just keep that in mind.” Bella mumbled in return.

“I know I already ordered.” Derek responded quietly.

Bella nodded but didn’t say anything until she heard the knock at the door. She wrapped herself tighter in the blanket as Derek stood to answer his warmth leaving her side. She stood and entered the living room, making herself comfortable on the couch, she watched Derek bring in the food and gave a small smile as her ordered her favorite salad and soup. “Thanks.”

“I got you some ice cream in case you wanted something sweet.” Derek responded sitting beside her and eating his own burger.

Bella nodded, they ate in silence until they were done. Bella rested her head against Derek’s shoulder and closed her eyes.

“I was engaged to be married.” Bella said quietly. “He was a great guy, but it just wasn’t right. I loved him, but something just wasn’t okay in our relationship. I didn’t love him as much as I thought I did. Right before the wedding both John and Charlie spoke to me. John told me to follow my heart, but Charlie… Charlie told me to listen to my head. Charlie always said that he knew something was off with Renee, that she didn’t really love him that she loved what he gave her and he fell for it. He let himself believe that they were in love and that it was a pure and true love between him. He told me that he wished he would’ve listened to his head instead of letting his heart get away with him.”

“You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to, Bella.” Derek responded.

Bella shook her head. “No, I need to talk about it, I’ve kept this locked inside for too long.” Bella took in a deep breath to try and steady herself.

“I was up there, and I kept looking into his eyes, and I knew he loved me. I knew that his love for me was pure, but I didn’t love him in the same way. Edward was a very nice guy, and I think at one point I did love him, but I just couldn’t go through with it.” Bella shook her head.

“So, you left him at the altar?” Derek responded curiously.

Bella nodded, “I should’ve realized it sooner, but it wasn’t until the father called for objections that I realized that I objected. I didn’t know what to do so, I ran. John and Stiles ran after me, but Charlie stayed to make sure things got taken care of.”

Bella stayed quiet for moments until she got the strength to speak again. “Edward’s family all consisted of adopted siblings. None of them were related, in fact they were couples instead of actual siblings. Before I had met them, they had taken in this girl, her name was Bree, and Bree was infatuated with Edward. When I left the wedding Bree was furious, in her mind I had humiliated Edward and that was unacceptable. A few weeks later, Charlie and I went camping, he thought it would clear my mind up and help me along. I was reading, and Charlie was cooking some fish he had caught that day, and Bree came out of nowhere. She ambushed Charlie and I, she knocked me unconscious and when I woke up the fire was going, and I was tied to a tree. She tortured him, because she saw him as the reason I hurt Edward, in her head he was the reason I left Edward.”

“Bella…” Derek tried to stop her noticing her hair getting brighter and brighter.

“For twelve hours she tortured him.” Bella whispered getting lost in the memories. “She practically skinned him alive. Then she just threw him into the fire and I could hear Charlie’s screams, and he screamed for the longest time and I can still hear his voice as he burned alive. Eventually, I passed out from shock. When I woke up I was in the hospital, I was told that there was a camping fire and Charlie died in the accident. She made it seem like an accident, but I knew the truth and I knew that no one would believe me. When I went to the police station to see if I could gather any sort of evidence, that’s when it happened. Edward and his family were there, the family I saw as my own were covering it all up, they were the ones that made it seem like an accident. That’s when my soul fell apart, I lost my dad and I lost myself, because for the first time in my life I finally came to realize that it didn’t matter if you were a good person, all that mattered was whether or not you had the right money and connections to hide the truth. I lost who I was, I felt it break, I felt my soul just crack into pieces and there was nothing I could do to put it together. For the next few weeks I sort of just drifted, I wasn’t dead, but it felt like I was. Then one day I went to the cliffs, and I sat on the edge and I just thought about jumping off into the water. One moment I was on the cliff and the next I was in the water and it didn’t matter that I couldn’t breathe, because I felt free.”

Bella’s hair calmed down and she closed her eyes. “I felt the water enter my lungs and as I lost my breath I just felt my soul coming back together, but there was something different there. I don’t remember how I got back home, and for the first time since my dad I didn’t feel as dead. There was this warmth inside me, and I didn’t feel as alone, and I didn’t feel as weak and worthless as before. Stiles was right, Charlies death is what crushed my soul, I just I don’t like talking or thinking about it. I know it wasn’t my fault that he died, but sometimes that’s what it feels like.”

Bella practically sat on Derek’s lap with her head on his shoulder. “Today was the day he died.”

Derek held her tightly letting her cry into his shoulder. He could feel the tears wet his shirt, but he could also feel her emotions lighten up with her finally being able to release all the guilt and sorrow she had pent up inside.

Bella entered Derek’s home and handed him the gift bag. “Thanks for putting up with my grief.”

Derek looked at the bag, “You got me a gift because I was nice to you?”

“Just open it will you.” Bella responded with a roll of her eyes.

Derek sighed but open the bag, he couldn’t help but laugh as Bella had gotten him his own shirt, but dry cleaned. “Thanks.”

Bella grinned, “Your welcome.” Bella moved to sit on his couch. “Hey.” She called out to Derek who was in the kitchen getting a coffee. “Are you ever going to ask me for a date, or am I forever going to be in your friendzone?”

“I’ll ask you eventually.” Derek responded handing Bella a mug of tea. He sat beside her and smiled as she leaned against him.

“Alright.” Bella responded quietly.

-Page Break-

Derek sat with a book, a pillow on his lap and Bella resting her head on that pillow as she watched a movie on his TV. He looked down at her as she had turned and had placed a kiss on his stomach. He set his book down as Bella maneuvered herself to straddle his lap. Her hands were in his hair and she looked down at him. He let her do as she pleased and just waited for her thoughts to come out.

One of his arms wrapped around her waist while his free hand wrapped around her neck keeping her still as they kissed. Bella pulled away and rested her forehead against Derek’s taking a moment to catch her breath. “You went from being a stranger to being one of the most important people in my life.”

“We went to high school together.” Derek reminded her. “We weren’t really strangers.”

Bella smiled, “Aside from the few times you defended me we never really spoke.”

“That’s really your fault.” Derek responded smiling lightly as Bella laughed.

“How is it my fault?” Bella responded pecking Derek’s lips.

“You were intimidating, to everyone including me.” Derek responded quietly. “You were a kid genius who tutored in Calculus and no matter the situation you were always so happy.” Derek pressed his face into Bella’s neck taking in her scent. “Even when you were being bullied you didn’t feel any hate or anger, you always just let it brush off you. You always smiled at everyone even if they didn’t deserve it, you were beautiful back then too, Bella. It was intimidating how amazing you were.”

Bella moved capturing Derek’s lips again, this kiss was slow, and it felt natural between the two. “I had a crush on you back then.” She whispered with a smile. “I’m surprised you never sensed it.”

Derek laughed, “I was busy trying to hide my feelings towards you to notice.”

Bella grinned and leaned back down to kiss him, this was one she didn’t dare break. They allowed it to heat up, both of them losing articles of their clothing in seconds and getting caught up in the moment to notice anything else.

“OHMYGAWD! You’re naked!! My eyes, I need to carve out my eyes! I need a knife! Put some clothes on!” Stiles yelled frantically trying desperately to get the image of his partially naked sister with a partially naked Derek.

Bella rolled her eyes, “I’m not naked, I still have my underwear on, and this is what you get when you don’t knock when entering. I’m going to take away that damn key I gave you.” Bella responded standing up and shrugging on her pants and shirt as Stiles headed into the kitchen. She turned to Derek with a frown. “I thought as Alpha your senses were supposed to be on point.”

Derek smirked and shrugged. “I was distracted.”

Bella went into the kitchen and sighed as Stiles was leaning over the sink scrubbing his eyes with water. “You’re overreacting.”

“I am not.” Stiles whined turning off the water and using his shirt to dry his face. “You were about to do it, with sir Sourwolf.”

Bella laughed at the growl from Derek at the name. “Yeah, I know I was there, thanks for being a cockblock.”

Stiles glared at his older sister. “I’m telling dad.”

Bella laughed. “I’m not 15, I think I can date, Stiles. Look, Derek and I…”

Stiles shook his head, “NO. I am going to remain oblivious until I can find a therapist to help me through this. I’ll see you tomorrow at dinner.”

Bella stopped Stiles and sighed. “Let me explain, please.”

Stiles shook his head, “Nope. You deserve more than just being someone’s fuckbuddy.”

“Derek and I are actually dating, Stiles.” Bella admitted. “We have been for the last 5 months, I just didn’t want to say anything. I didn’t want you or dad to worry about me.”

Stiles paused and held up a finger for Bella to wait. He took out his phone and sent her a text.

Sourwolf can hear us. So between you and me, are you sure you want this?

Bella smiled and started to type back a response.

Yes. This isn’t like Edward. This is different, it’s like finally being whole again, like being at home

Stiles nodded and clicked away at his phone.

Scott’s going to be so jealous, he’s had a crush on you since he was 10.

Bella rolled her eyes. “Is there a reason you stopped by?”

“Huh?” Stiles questioned trying to retrace his train of thought. “Oh yeah, can I stay the night? Dad’s working late and Scott is with Allisson and I need someone to hang out with because no one else wants to play Mario Kart with me, and I don’t want to be home alone. I’ve got a bad vibe, kind of like I’m being watched, but I can’t see anyone.”

Bella nodded slightly worried but wouldn’t alarm her brother. “Sure, you can stay and be a permanent cockblock for the rest of the night.”

“Good.” Stiles paused. “Does this mean Derek is now like my brother? Do I call him bro from now on? Does that mean you’re like pack mom if Derek is pack dad?”

“Stiles, I refuse to answer all of your questions.” Bella responded with a smirk as she entered the living room. “But you know, you could always ask Derek, he’s pretty talkative.”

Derek glared and picked back up his book.

Stiles laughed loudly, “HA! He can’t say he’s going to rip my throat out with his teeth anymore!”

Bella smiled and sat down next to Derek while Stiles turned on the wii and put on Mario kart. “I call dibs on Mario.”

Stiles shrugged, “I prefer Peach anyway.”

-Page Break-

Bella followed Stiles from a distant her eyes were dark and her hair burning as she used her powers to make her invisible to others. That’s when she saw the movement that Stiles was speaking about, she squinted her eyes not trusting herself. Her body shook with anger at the copper hair and gold eyes that were in the tree line. She walked up to the figure and made herself appear behind him. As soon as her scent hit him he turned around.

“We parted ways, Edward.” Bella said quietly her eyes back to their regular brown as she tried to calm herself. She couldn’t control it for long, as her eyes went dark and her hair glowed once more. “Don’t come near my brother. You have no idea what I would do to protect him, especially from you and your coven. This is a warning, Stiles and I, we’re part of a pack and a threat against him is a threat against our pack, and we don’t take kindly to threats.”

Edward nodded, “I just wanted to check in on you. It’s been years since we last spoke, I didn’t know you underwent some change…”

Bella shrugged. “That’s what happens when someone tortures and kills your father in front of you.” Bella turned to walk away. “Stop following, Stiles, and leave Beacon Hills, you’re not welcome here.” Bella added as she left she disappeared. She headed straight to Derek’s, knowing that Stiles would be safe in school and in the sunlight.

Bella entered Derek’s loft and found him still fast asleep. “Hey, Der, wake up.”

Derek opened his eyes and studied Bella. He sat up and pulled her closer to him, he pressed his nose to her neck and pulled back with a disgusted face. “Why do you smell so bitter?”

“I have a problem and I think you need to know about it.” Bella responded sitting on his bed. “Remember how I told you about my Ex-fiancé?”

Derek nodded, his jealousy only slightly flaring at the mention of the almost marriage.

“I forgot to mention that he and his family are vampires who feed off animals.” Bella said in a rush. “I guess this is also the part where I say that I was supposed to also become a vampire and join their immortal coven/family.”

Derek couldn’t contain the growl that came up. “Why bring it up now?”

“That’s the problem. Stiles mentioned he’s been getting this feeling that he’s being followed, so I trailed him this morning and it was Edward who was creepily following Stiles. I’m sure by now you’re aware that when it comes to Stiles I might be a bit overprotective and I threatened him and his coven if they got close to Stiles again.”

Derek stood up, “Where was he?” He demanded pulling on a pair of jeans and a shirt. He turned to Bella his eyes glowing Alpha red, a threat against one of his pack members was a direct threat to him, and that was not something he would stand for.

Bella stood and placed a comforting hand on Derek’s chest. “He should be gone, I know Edward and he’s not a fighter, he’s a flyer and he’s probably already gone. There’s no reason to do this.”

“A threat against a pack member is a direct threat to the alpha. You and Stiles are pack, we protect our own.” Derek responded sternly.

Bella smiled, “I know, that’s why I already did that. Look, it’s sunny out, even if Edward wanted to do something he can’t come out without exposing what he is. Let’s sit down and I’ll tell you all I know about vampires and then we’ll figure out where to go from here.”
