Lonely Star (Bella and Tony)
I hope you enjoy!
“Explain to me why we need some superstar for help?” Tony questioned taking a large bite from the apple in his hand.
“After all the damage with Loki, this team needs a positive supporter. She is America’s sweetheart. Her job is to be essential as she’ll be the new face of this team.” Fury responded glancing at his watch as their guest was a bit late.
“Miss Swan, this is your table.” A waiter said as he pulled out a chair for Bella.
“Thank you.” Bella responded with a warm smile as she now sat across from both Tony and Nick. Bella nodded to the two men but before she greeted them she placed a blue pen into the water. She sighed as the pen turned black in the water. “I’m assuming neither of you spiked my water, but you did choose the one place in town that does.”
“My apologies, Ms. Swan.” Fury responded, Tony however grab the pen as she set it down.
“Tests for drugs?” He questioned as he looked the pen over. “Cute.”
Bella rolled her eyes, “Let’s get to the point.” She said crossing her legs and leaning back in her chair. “From what I’ve heard, you want me to endorse your program. Make everyday men and women admire your task force.” Bella responded at their agreement she nodded.
“Okay.” She said simply.
“Just like that?” Tony questioned. “No negotiating? No asking for money? Not even a little bit more arguing?”
Bella sighed, “None of that. I am not doing this for you, but for my godfather who happens to be associated with your team. You’ve gotten him back in the states, and that is payment enough for me.” Bella stood and tucked her chair in. “Pleasure to meet you both, but I have to get going. Please e-mail the contract and I’ll get it back to you.”
“Who’s your god-father?” Tony yelled after her.
“You’re a genius, figure it out.” Bella responded as she exited the restaurant.
Bella entered the Stark tower, as part of her contract she was to spend some time here, and post the proof on all her social media sites. She paused just about to run into someone. “Excuse me.” She said taking a step back.
“If it isn’t America’s sweetheart.” Tony remarked with a grin.
Bella smiled, “If I’m America’s sweetheart you must be America’s asshole.” Bella smiled at Tony’s laugh, and she looked around the tower. “Can you lead me somewhere where this place looks remotely normal? I need something good to post.”
Tony shrugged, “I can do better.”
Tony turned and motioned her over, and Bella followed him. A few hours later Bella had everything she needed thanks to Tony and his need to pull pranks on all the others.
“Thank you.” Bella said putting her phone away.
“You know, I had figured someone at your stature would have a better phone.” Tony responded seeing as her was 3 years too old and not a Stark model.
Bella shrugged, “It was a gift, so it has sentimental value, and I have no problems with it. I don’t plan on getting a new one until this is beyond repair.” She smirked up at Tony. “Thanks for the concern though, AA.”
Tony frowned as she taken to calling him that all day. “What the hell does that mean?”
“America’s Asshole.” Bella responded as she exited the stark Tower.
Tony sat with the other Avengers in the communal area, he grabbed the remote from Clint as they stopped on Bella’s first interview since her visit to Stark Tower.
“About all your recent posts. You really seem to be involved with the world’s supposed greatest heroes”
Bella nodded with a grin, “Yeah, my god father is part of the team, so I have a reason to linger around.”
“And your god father is which one? The guy with the arrows?”
Bella shook her head with a smile “The one who turns into a big green guy.” Bella responded with a smile. “His name is Bruce Banner. He raised me after my parents passed away when I was a kid. It’s really cool to see someone you know so well saving the world.”
“Doesn’t it scare you that all these individuals are so powerful and together they’re practically unstoppable?”
Bella shook her head. “We have to see them the same way we see the FBI or the CIA, even everyday policemen. This group is created to protect us, just like other agencies. I was in New York when the invasion happened, and I was terrified. How are we as humans supposed to defend ourselves from these other worldly beings? This group put their lives on the line to protect New York and to protect those people who weren’t able to fight for themselves.”
“They destroyed the city, New York is going to have to rebuild for years.”
“No, they protected it. Of course, there was damage, there’s always damage in a battle. There were 2 fatalities in total and both were due to heart attacks that were caused by the creatures invading us. These men and women that protected the city suffered more than we give them credit for. The battle lasted days, and they never stopped fighting or lost hope. I think it’s time people look past the fear and see all the good this team has to offer.”
“You’re truly on their side, aren’t you?”
Bella nodded and smiled widely. “I’m on team avengers all the way. They saved my life and every life on this planet, I couldn’t be more grateful that they exist.”
Tony looked to his phone as it beeped. “We’re trending.” He said in amazement as Fury’s idea had worked. “#TeamAvengers is now the most talked about topic.”
“What does that mean?” Steve questioned curiously.
“It means Bella’s influence has worked. People are talking about us, and they’re standing behind us.” Bruce responded taking a sip of his drink amused at his god daughter. “She was always able to do whatever she set her mind to.”
Tony entered Bruce’s office and paused at the conversation that was echoing through the walls.
“iPhone?” Bruce questioned curiously as he looked over some paperwork
“The screen will break too easily.” Bella responded with a suffering sigh. “Can you believe I cried when it stopped working?”
“It was just a phone.” Bruce responded.
Bella frowned, “No, it was my graduation gift from you.” Bella responded with a pout. “I feel like I lost a part of myself. I guess I’ll just have to search the market for a new phone that holds some sort of sentimental value.” Bella responded.
“I can always give you a new one.” Bruce responded sincerely.
“Wouldn’t be the same, but thanks, Brucey.” Bella responded.
Tony turned around and headed back to his lab, deciding to make Bella a phone from scratch. A few days later Bella entered Tony’s workshop, instantly throwing the IPhone on the ground in frustration. “Nope.” Bella said stepping on the phone for good measure.
“Told you Stark models are the best.” Tony responded. “Speaking of.” He handed her a small box. “Happy Birthday.”
“Not for another 5 months.” Bella said with a frown of confusion, she cautiously opened the box and her eyes widened at the phone inside. She turned it over to see her name engraved on the back. “It’s yellow.”
“You’re favorite color.” Tony responded with a shrug as he watched Bella handle the phone very carefully.
“Most people just assume it’s pink.” She said with a smile. “Did you make this?”
“It’s an official Stark Industries prototype.” Tony responded, he felt a tightening in his chest as he saw her eyes swell with tears. ” I don’t do the whole crying thing, so…”
Bella moved quickly and hugged him before he could leave. “Thank you.”
“Whoa. Suffocating the billionaire.” Tony could practically feel Bella roll her eyes at him.
Bella smiled pulling back. “Show me how to use it? I don’t think I’ll be able to figure it out without some help.”
Tony nodded and began to explain all the gadgets the phone had to offer. Once he was done he tensed as he felt a kiss on his cheek.
“Thank you.” Bella responded with a wide grin.
Bella was sitting in the Tower common room when Tony stepped in. She looked to him confused as she could tell that he was clearly bothered by something. “What’s this?” Bella questioned as Tony handed her a magazine with a scowl. She looked down at the front page and took in a deep breath. “To them, I’m single. They look for a relationship everywhere and this just so happens to be good gossip. We went out to get a bite to eat in-between takes, they’re just over thinking something simple.”
Bella smiled as Tony was laying above her on the couch within seconds. “Are you really jealous?”
“Not jealous.” Tony responded before leaning down to close the space between them. Minutes passed before they broke apart. “Dinner at six?”
Bella smiled, “Sure. You can choose where.”
“Perfect.” Tony responded getting one more kiss in before he left the room.
Bella smiled and returned to her book. Minutes later she felt her phone going crazy with notifications. She picked it up hoping no one really believed she was seeing her co-star. She furrowed her brows in confusion as she was tagged in a picture from Tony. She sighed out as she saw Tony had gotten a picture of them kissing from the security camera and had posted it.
“TONY!” She yelled standing up, she was upset at his childish behavior, but she was also amused how the world was reacting to their relationship.
