Bella the Witch Chapter 22
So… Finally. A new chapter.
Tell me what you think, and I hope you enjoy!
Bella sighed as Kol walked beside her up to the police station. She had contacted a lawyer to come meet her, the last thing she wanted was to say anything that could potentially cause more problems.
“Miss Swan?” A young man said approaching Bella holding his hand out to her. “I’m Roger Baines, your lawyer.”
Bella smiled and took his hand. “Mr. Baines, it’s a pleasure to meet you. This is Kol.”
Kol gave the man a polite smile but was more preoccupied with the idea of finally going inside the police station.
“It’s very basic what we’re going to do today, so there shouldn’t be any trouble.” Roger said grabbing his suitcase. He stepped forward and opened the door for Bella.
Bella smiled, “Thank you.”
Kol looked at the man curiously as he caught him stare after Bella. He followed in silently more than aware that Bella was oblivious of the man’s constant ogling of her.
“All you have to do Bella is make a statement for now and that should be it. If she decides to continue on with this the statement will benefit you in the future.” Roger said, “I can help you write it.”
Bella nodded, “Alright, where do we have to do this?”
“Take a seat, we can do it out here if we have to.” Roger said.
Bella nodded she looked to Kol as he walked after. “Are you going to wander around?”
“No, I think I’ll stay right here.” Kol said taking a seat beside her. He now understood that he saw Bella just as he saw Rebekah, a sister. And he by no means liked the way that man looked at her. Kol smirked as something popped into his head. “Bella, darling, do you have plans with Elijah after this?”
Bella looked at Kol curiously as she handed Roger her finished statement. “Not really, why do you ask?”
“I was just wondering, sometimes I think he’s only days away from proposing to you. I thought he might do it soon.” Kol said with a smirk as he saw Roger eagerly listening.
Bella laughed, “I do love your brother, Kol, but I highly doubt that he’s going to propose.”
Kol smirked widely his amusement noticeable as he watched the man’s face fall. This was the far better route to go, he quite enjoyed the fallen expression of the man. “You don’t need to be married to be a Mikaelson, I suppose.” Kol said he smirked at the man who was now visibly frowning. “Is that all you need, mate?” Kol questioned crossing his arms over his chest.
“I’ll go and make sure they don’t need anything else.” Roger said standing.
Bella looked to Kol and raised an eyebrow. “What has you so smug?”
Kol shrugged, “Nothing at all, darling. I’m just bored, not nearly as interesting as I thought it was going to be to come to a police station.”
Bella laughed lightly, “I told you it wasn’t going to be as exciting as you imagined.”
Kol sighed in disappointment. “I suppose my siblings are at this moment confronting Finn, so what do you say to the two of us doing absolutely anything but going home.”
Bella smiled and nodded, “I do have to run some errands today. I think we can make it last a bit longer so we don’t have to head back just yet.”
Kol smirked widely pleased that they wouldn’t be heading back right away. He watched as Roger appeared again, Kol was more than happy to see that the man was looking a little more professional now. “Are we good to leave?”
Roger nodded, “Yes, they’ll be dealing with the complaint and have assured me that they will make sure Renee stays off your property. They do urge you to call if she decides to approach your home again, so they can deal with the situation properly.”
Bella stood with a smile. “Thank you for your help, Roger. I greatly appreciate your assistance today.”
Roger smiled, “It was no problem, I’ll leave you my card in case you need help in anything else. If I hear anything else, I’ll be sure to alert you about it.”
Bella took his card. “Thank you.”
Elijah entered his home with Niklaus and Rebekah with him. The three of them were finally going to have a talk with their brother. They weren’t going to allow him to continue on with his foolishness any longer. Elijah saw his older brother heading down the stairs. “Finn.” He said with a stern voice. “We would all like to speak to you.”
Finn scoffed in annoyance. “I do not wish to speak to any of you unless it pertains to freeing our mother from that wretched coffin of hers.”
Elijah nodded, “That is exactly what we wish to speak to you about.”
Finn nodded in response. “Then let’s speak.”
Elijah walked beside his older brother into the library. Noticing Rebekah and Niklaus following behind them in silence Elijah knew his siblings were allowing him the chance to deal with their eldest brother and for that he was grateful. “I heard you tried opening our mother’s coffin last night.”
Finn turned and smirked at his younger brother. “Speaking of last night, where is that brunette witch of yours? I notice Kol isn’t here as well, is it likely she’s a bit of a strumpet and enjoys the company of two brothers.”
Elijah growled and in one swift movement he had his brother up against the wall with a hand to his throat. “Be careful what you say about my mate. I will not hesitate on ripping out your vocal cords out so I don’t have to hear your pathetic voice again.”
Elijah used his strength and threw Finn across the room creating a large dent in the living room wall. “We have all had enough of your childish tantrums, Finn. We are not going to allow you to put the rest of us in danger just because you’re pathetic enough to want to die. If you wish to die, then I will grant you your wish and kill you myself.”
Finn stood glaring at his brother. “You are far too noble to kill me.”
“I have vowed to protect this family, we all have, if killing you is what will protect this family then so be it.” Elijah said sternly smirking as his two siblings stood at his side. “Make your decision now, Finn, we will not give you all day to do so.”
Finn simple smirked. “I will leave. The last thing I want is to be in a home of monsters. None of you see the affect we’re having on this earth. We were not meant to live this long, to cause all this bloodshed!”
Elijah chuckled bitterly. “Tell me brother, who was it that murdered more than the plague? Or did you forget that during one of your tantrums we were the ones to clean up after you. Afterall, there is a reason why you were trapped in a coffin all this time. Do not force upon us your guilt. We can all accept what we have done and what we are. It is time for you to do the same.”
Finn growled loudly. “We all deserve to die for all we have done on this earth. It is time you all to see that.” In a second Finn was out to the room, the three other originals hearing him head upstairs.
Elijah watched his brother storm off. “I truly doubt he’ll go easily.”
Klaus smirked, “I think he’ll go just fine. If I’m not mistake, I believe you terrified him, you’ve never lashed out on him before. On the rest of us you have, but this is the first time you’ve ever hurt Finn. I have to say I’m slightly proud of you.”
Elijah rolled his eyes at his brother. “We need to be careful, I wouldn’t put it past Finn to try something before he leaves. I also wouldn’t put it past Sage she’s just as demented as he is.”
Rebekah nodded. “Shouldn’t Bella and Kol be coming home soon?”
“I doubt our brother wants to be anywhere near Finn at this moment.” Elijah responded simply. “I have no doubt that Kol and Bella are only going to return just as Finn is about to leave.”
“Let’s just hope that they don’t do anything dangerous.” Klaus responded walking over to pour himself a glass of bourbon.
Bella put her hands in her pockets as she and Kol walked through the mall together. “Is there anything you’re looking for specifically?”
“Rebekah is insisting I go on a date with one of the girls she’s acquaintances with.” Kol said looking around at the stores. “I need something that I can wear and then burn once it’s over.”
Bella grinned, “I thought you enjoyed female attention.”
“I do.” Kol responded with a smirk. “But I prefer my woman a bit classier, this girl would flirt with a flag pole if she could.”
Bella laughed, “Then why say yes to going out with her in the first place?”
“To appease Rebekah.” Kol responded simply. “Her constant complaining can get on my nerves. It seemed easier to just do as she wanted.”
“What are you going to do on this date?” Bella questioned as they walked into a clothing store.
“Dinner and whatever else comes to mind.” Kol responded with a shrug of his shoulder. “Whether she enjoys the date or not doesn’t matter, I’ll compel her to believe it was one of the best dates she’s ever had.”
“And the next day at school?” Bella questioned as she began to go through the men’s rack of clothing.
“I’ll publically state that she was one of the worst dates I’ve ever had and refuse to go out with her again. Rebekah has something she wants me to say to this girl.” Kol responded with a roll of his eyes. “Rebekah has an entire plan set out in her mind for this. I’m just following along for entertainment.”
Bella grinned, “I think I would’ve enjoyed going to high school with you and Rebekah.” She handed Kol a shirt. “You look best in t-shirts.”
Kol smirked widely. “I’m glad you noticed, darling.”
Bella rolled her eyes but continued to go through the racks. Handing Kol the shirts she figured he’d look best in. “Come, go try them on.”
Kol sighed, “Is it necessary?”
“I’m buying us time.” Bella replied with a smirk. “Go try them on. I’ll be looking around.”
Bella went through the racks not really seeing anything that caught her eyes. She looked up to see Kol flirting with one of the workers. She rolled her eyes, she had never met someone who was as much of a flirt as Kol was. Bella reached into her bag and smiled as her fun lit up with a text.
Everything going okay, my love?
Bella smiled replying back that she was just fine and her and Kol would eventually return home.
“What has you smiling like a fool at your phone, darling?” Kol questioned approaching.
Bella turned to look at him. Pausing as she saw the leather jacket now on him. “The sales girl talk you into that?”
Kol shrugged, “I quite like the way it looks on me.”
Bella laughed, “It seems you found everything you’re looking for. Let’s get going. I figured we could find a suitable take out place to take home some lunch.”
“Finn isn’t out of the house yet?” Kol questioned as he walked with her to go pay.
“It seems he and Sage are packing up his room.” Bella said with a roll of her eyes. “I wouldn’t put it past them to be destroying the room as some form of payback.”
Kol grinned, “As long as they leave I don’t care what happens to the room.”
Elijah exited the house as he heard Bella’s car approaching. He smiled as she got out of the car, quietly bickering with Kol over something. Her head turned and she smiled widely at him. “You brought lunch?”
Bella smiled, “I figured it might help ease the tension.” She leaned up on the tips of her toes and placed a kiss on his lips. “I also bought you a new suit.”
Elijah looked at her curiously. “You did?”
Bella nodded, “We passed by a store and they had just taken out a new collection, so I bought you one. Kol got himself one as well, but a different color.”
Elijah smiled genuinely happy to know that she thought of him. “Thank you.” He took the bag of food in her hands and led her inside the house. Elijah didn’t hide the fact that he was worried that if he left her side Finn would try and attack her. Elijah helped Bella set out all the containers of food watching as she separated the sandwiches that would be for each of them.
Bella opened each contained setting aside mumbling who’s it was, she turned to Elijah and handed him his. She turned to Elijah and smiled widely. “I got you the house special.” She said with a grin. “The lady said it was to die for, so I thought you might enjoy trying something a little bit different.”
Elijah set the container down and smiled at Bella. He easily lifted her up on the counter and stood in front of her his hands on her sides. “Anything you choose is perfect, my love.” He leaned in and tenderly kissed her his hands gripping her sides and keeping her close to him. He pulled back slightly to rest his forehead against hers taking in a deep breath to take in her comforting scent. He smiled as she leaned in and softly kissed him.
“Come on, Eli.” Bella said running her hands through his hair. “We should head out to the living room before your three younger siblings start getting antsy. You’re the one that’s meant to keep them calm.”
Elijah smiled and stepped back letting Bella jump off the counter. He watched her set the three containers in a pile as she carried them out to the living room. He followed her looking up the stairs hearing his brother’s movements. In the thousand years Elijah knew to trust his gut feeling and at this moment it was telling him his brother was up to no good.
Elijah handed Klaus his food it being the only container Bella had let him carry that wasn’t his own. He sat down on the couch beside Klaus, he smiled as Bella moved and sat down beside him. They all ate in relative silence as they tried not to focus on the noise from upstairs.
Halfway done with her sandwich Bella stood from her spot and sighed. “I’m going to go ahead and get some blood from the kitchen. I’ll leave you to say goodbye to your brother.”
Elijah nodded and stood as well watching as Bella disappeared just as his brother appeared in the living room. “It seems you’re finally ready to leave Finn.”
Finn placed his hands in his jacket pockets, “Yes, we’re just about to leave.”
“I would say it’s sad to see you go, but I’ve never favored lying.” Elijah said with a smirk. “Do not return if you’re still desperate to die. We have no patience to deal with your tantrums any longer.”
Kol stood with a wide smirk. “Well, this is more than a pleasant change. Finally, I’m not the one receiving Elijah’s lecture. You’ve really got yourself in bit of trouble if you’ve taken my place as the family outcast, Finn.”
Elijah went to respond to his youngest brother, but his entire body stiffened as an ear piercing screech filled the air. In a second he and Finn were out of the room. Elijah went to Bella’s side immediately, his instincts forcing him to check her over fully to make sure she wasn’t hurt. “What happened?” He questioned turning his head to see his brother kneeling down by Sage who was withering on the floor.
Bella looked to Elijah with wide eyes. “She wanted to attack me.” Bella said softly she grasped her necklace never more grateful to have it with her. She had been dumb to turn her back to the entrance, her necklace alerting her that someone was going to harm her. “She had a stake in her hand.” Bella said gesturing to the stake she had used her magic to get away from Sage.
Elijah turned tucking Bella behind him as he could already sense his brother ready to attack. Instantly his arm shot out and his hand wrapped around Finn’s throat. Elijah’s entire body shook with anger and his fangs lengthened. “This is enough, Finn. I am not above killing my own brother at this moment, so I suggest you and Sage leave our home.”
Finn laughed bitterly. “You would kill your own brother over a strumpet that is sure to leave you?”
Elijah growled and in an instant he was out of the kitchen throwing his brother out of their home. He stepped out and glared at his brother. Elijah moved forward and without hesitation he took his fist across his brother’s face, “I will not warn you again, Finn. You insult my Bella one more time and I will be sure to cause you a torturous death.”
Finn winced as his jaw was healing itself from his brother’s hit. “I suppose this is the end.”
“You were never meant to be a part of this family.” Elijah said truthfully. “We all may be selfish, scheming and the true definitions of monsters, but we’re still a family. You never understood what that meant, Finn. All you’ve ever thought about is your need to be human, to die, not once thinking how it would affect the rest of us. I believe I speak for all of us when I say we no longer consider you as part of the Mikaelson family. You’ve finally gotten what you’ve wanted, Finn. No association to the monsters you claim us to be.” Elijah turned his head to see Sage levitating towards Finn. He turned his head slightly to see Bella at the door frame. He moved his gaze from her to see that his siblings had moved to stand at his side. Each of them wearing a stern face as they watched Finn.
Kol threw Finn’s bags at his feet. “Good riddance. I hope you finally get what you’ve wished for Finn and enjoy an eternity in Hell.” With that Kol turned and walked towards Bella putting his arm around her shoulders and leading her back inside.
Rebekah nodded, “I hope you know the only strumpet here is in your arms. You should ask her how many men she’s been with while you were in your coffin.” Rebekah blurred away heading back inside the house.
“I wouldn’t return,” Klaus said sternly. “You’re no longer protected by the Mikaelson name, if I see you again I have all right to torture just as I would any other vampire who plans to harm my family.”
Elijah nodded, “Goodbye, Finn.”
Without a word Finn turned his back and disappeared from sight.
Elijah turned his head to Klaus, “A thousand years and we now lose a Mikaelson. I truly never thought this moment would come.”
Klaus smirked, “I always had an inkling Finn would be the first to go. It was needed,” Klaus responded as his smirk only growing larger. “We can only have so many Mikaelson’s in the world, in order to add a new addition to the family, one had to leave. It was for the best, I rather enjoy the new Mikaelson, her company is more enjoyable than Finn’s ever was.”
Elijah chuckled, “She is quite marvelous.” Elijah responded heading inside the house. A warm smile covered his face as he watched his Bella with Kol and Rebekah. “I’ll have to see to making her an official Mikaelson, ring and all.” Elijah said looking down at his family crest, he had no doubt that it would look absolutely beautiful on her hand.
