Coffee Shop Love (Bella/Stiles)
I hope you enjoy!
Stiles stopped at a local coffee shop that was close to campus, he had a class in 25 minutes, but he needed something to help keep him awake. Stiles had left Beacon Hills for Harvard almost a year ago and decided to cut almost all contact with the pack. Afterall, they barely seemed to care about him anyway. Now, as a full-time college student he was more than enjoying his life.
“Welcome to Swan’s coffee how can I help you?” A small brunette said over the counter.
Stiles smiled, “Oh, where’s Seth? I forgot my usual, he usually just knows what to get me. Umm…”
The girl smiled, “You must be Stiles. Yeah, Seth told me about you, and he said you didn’t know the names to any of the drinks. Just give me a moment, I’ll go ahead and make it for you.”
“Um Thanks. I didn’t realize Seth spoke about me at all. I tend to think I just annoy people.” Stiles responded. “What is it that I get anyways?”
Bella smiled, “Seth calls it a tornado, I call it a heart attack in a cup. Honestly, I’m not sure how you can drink this much caffeine in one drink without going into overdrive. You should know you’re the only person who ever gets this, it’s why Seth’s so amazed by you.”
“Harvard requires it.” Stiles responded with a smile. “I’ve never seen you around here. Are you a new worker?”
“No, I just tend to work mornings. I’m covering for Seth until he can get his grades back up, school isn’t cheap and he needs to keep his scholarship.” Bella responded setting the drink in front of him. She shook her head as he tried to hand her money. “It’s on the house, studying at Harvard isn’t easy.”
“You shouldn’t do that. I don’t want you getting in trouble or losing your job over this.” Stiles responded handing her the money.
Bella laughed, “Don’t worry about it. I’m Bella by the way, Bella Swan.”
Stiles blushed lightly in embarrassment. “The owner. In my head you were a middle-aged woman with a permanent frown on her face.”
“Sorry to disappoint, Stiles.” Bella responded she reached over and grabbed him a muffin. “Here, energy food for midterms. Good luck.”’
-Three and a half years later-
Bella reached over settling Stiles’ leg with her hand. “If you keep bouncing your leg like that we’re going to get in a car accident and I will kill you if you damage my car.”
Stiles looked over at her and smirked, “Do you love this car more than me?”
“Yup.” Bella responded with a smirk. “It’s true love, nothing will come between us.”
Stiles mocked gasp. “I’m hurt.”
Bella laughed, “Are you sure you want to do this? You said it’s been four years since you were in this town. It’s not too late to turn around and head to Disney land, I bet you’d look adorable in R2-D2 ears.”
“I wouldn’t look adorable, I’d look handsome.” Stiles responded with a grin. “And it’s too late now, we’re in the city limits they had to have none I’m coming.”
The Sheriff stood outside his house and sighed at the group of people that was standing there. “You all heard he was coming back into town?”
Scott nodded sheepishly. “Yeah, we wanted to see him again. We all feel pretty awful about icing him out. We just want to know he’s okay.”
The sheriff nodded, “Might as well all come inside then.” He said nodding at Scott, Isaac, Lydia, Jackson, Kira, Malia, and Derek. They all gathered in the living room and anxiously waited to see their friend who had just graduated and simultaneously gotten into law school.
They all turned their heads as they heard a car pull into the driveway. They looked at each other in confusion as they heard four heart beats.
“Did he bring friends along?” Scott questioned the sheriff.
“Hey, pops, can you help me?” Stiles shouted from outside. He held his hand out to Bella and helped her out of the car. He heard the door open and turned with a bright smile to greet his dad.
“Stiles…” John said glancing at his son and then to the young woman.
“This is Bella, my wife.” Stiles said with a grin and moving quickly to embrace his dad. “Missed you old man. I should have come back sooner.”
Stiles held his hand out to Bella “Bells, this is my dad.”
Bella smiled, “Pleasure to meet you sheriff.”
The sheriff smiled, “You too, Bella, though I would’ve appreciated knowing my son got married.”
Bella laughed and turned to Stiles. “Told you.”
Stiles rolled his eyes, “It wasn’t exactly a conventional wedding. It was more of a road trip to Vegas that ended up with us at a chapel being married by Elvis. It was still fun though. Do you have pictures with you, babe? Did I bring them? I think I brought them.” Stiles turned around and headed back towards the car.
Bella smiled at the sheriff. “He didn’t bring them because they’re all on his phone. I’m sorry for all this additional information being sprung on you. Stiles didn’t’ want to say anything because he’s nervous you might be disappointed in him.”
Bella turned to Stiles. “Hun, they’re on your phone.”
Stiles turned and smiled at his wife. “Right. Thanks. So, dad, want to invite us in and I can explain things. Also, Bella shouldn’t be standing for too long, it’s not good for the babies. The doc said she needs to be resting and driving pretty much cross country has been hell.”
Bella placed a hand on Stiles’ arm. “Stiles, your brain to mouth filter is gone. Look back on what you just blurted out to your dad.”
Stiles paused, and he turned to Bella with wide eyes. “woops.”
Bella smiled placed her hand on the back of his neck. “I thought you wanted to keep your dad healthy. Pretty sure you almost gave him a heart attack.”
“I can explain this too. Actually, I’m sure you know how it happened, but you know ta-da!” Stiles said nervously. “Oh god…”
“Kid, are you telling me that you’re married and that you’re expecting a kid?” John questioned glancing down at Bella. “No offense, but you don’t look pregnant.”
“I know, oddly enough I’m six months along.” Bella said pressing a hand to her stomach and the small but invisible bump.
“And before you ask, we were married long before she got pregnant. A year to be exact, and I’m not just having one kid, Bella’s having twins. Isn’t that cool? They’ll be two grandkids for you! Though, I am hoping they’re both girls, because I don’t think I can handle a miniature version of myself. A minature version of Bella, though that’d be adorable.” Stiles responded smiling sheepishly at his dad. “You still happy to see me?”
John sighed and moved to hug his son against. “Of course, I am.” He moved and gave Bella a brief hug.
Bella smiled and held Stiles’ hand. Stiles beamed knowing his dad didn’t hate him for keeping him out of his life for so long. “So can we go inside and have a chat, because there’s a lot more that I want to talk about.”
John sighed, remembering the pack that was waiting inside the house. “Your friends are inside.”
Stiles looked to Bella, who offered him a small smile. “I guess it’s two birds one stone, right? The good thing is that with their werewolf hearing I won’t have to explain this part again.”
