Bella The Witch: Chapter 23

Bella The Wtich Chpt 23

Author’s Note

Well, I know this is long overdue… Sorry.

Tell me what you think, and I hope you enjoy!

Bella sat curled up in the corner of the couch reading a small book. She turned the page and didn’t notice the figure in the entryway watching her.

“Reading something of interest, my love?” Elijah said finally pushing off the doorway to walk towards her.

Bella looked up and a bright smile lit her face. “Not really.” She said setting the book aside and standing. “I was just waiting for you to get home. I spent the majority of the morning with your younger siblings, apparently it’s important for them to have the perfect costumes.”

“They need costumes?” Elijah questioned curiously. “For what?”

Bella grinned widely, she leaned up and kissed Elijah hello. “I guess I should be the one to break the news to you.” She laughed lightly. “Your siblings have decided to throw, in their terms, “the most epic party of the year.” It’s going to be a Halloween party, and in about an hour several decorators are going to enter and make this house Halloween ready.”

Elijah shook his head in annoyance. “Have they told Niklaus this?”

Bella shook her head, “I’m assuming they’re thinking either you or I are going to tell him.” Bella looked to her watch. “Which is why I was going to ask if you wanted to join me for a long movie and an early lunch afterwards. What do you say?”

Elijah smiled, “I’d love to. Are you sure you don’t have any work to do?”

Bella nodded, “I’m positive. Come on, let’s go before Kol and Rebekah think they can make us tell, Nik.” Bella grabbed her bag and with her hand in Elijah’s she walked out of the house.

“No.” Niklaus said in annoyance as his younger siblings were getting on his nerves. “I told you already, if you want to have this party, then have it somewhere else. I am not allowing you to fill my home with hundreds of teenage humans.”

Kol sighed, “That’s a real shame, Nik.” Kol said with a smirk. “The caterers and the decorators will be here in less than 20 minutes. If it makes you feel better, they’ll be plenty of easy prey.”

Rebekah sighed, “Nik, I need this, it’ll be the ultimate gesture of me being the best. We’ll make sure that no one enters your study or your room. And Bella already spelled off the basement, everything will be fine.”

Niklaus growled in annoyance. “If anything breaks, I’m going to break you.” He warned before exiting the room.

Kol turned to Rebekah. “I’ve helped you enough, I’m going to go get a drink and a snack.”

Rebekah sighed, “Be back in time! I want you here and in costume when people start to arrive.”

Kol rolled his eyes, “We’ll see how it goes.”

Rebekah sighed looking around. “I can do this.”

Bella smirked as she and Elijah pulled into the house. “I can’t believe they got Klaus to agree to this.”

“I have a feeling Klaus isn’t too please about this.” Elijah responded wrapped his arm around Bella’s waist and led her inside. His eyes squinted as they adjusted to the red lights that lighted the house. “Rebekah has gone…”

“Overboard.” Bella finished for him as they walked further into the house. Bella flinched back as she took notice of all the decorations as different things popped out. “I bet your brother is having a fit.”

“More than likely.” Elijah responded, he led Bella to the study and saw his brother sitting at his desk. “Hiding out, Niklaus?”

Klaus looked up the look of annoyance written across his face. “I’m in here to prevent myself from snapping Rebekah’s neck.”

Bella smiled, “What are you going to do in a couple of hours when a bunch of teenagers flood your home?”

“You helped her come up with stupid party idea, didn’t you?” Klaus responded looking at Bella.

Bella sighed, “I told her to watch the movie Mean Girls, I thought she would like it, after all it resembles a lot of what she’s doing in this school. If she got the idea to throw the party from the movie, it’s not my fault.”

Klaus rolled his eyes, “They’re too human for my liking.”

“You do remember what they were like before?” Elijah responded. “Kol hasn’t kill an entire town, so a small party isn’t bad in comparison.”

“Small?” Klaus responded unamused. “They’ve invited their entire school. That is more than a thousand humans who plan to spend the majority of the night here. I don’t want to be responsible for drunk teenagers.”

Bella smirked, “You don’t have to be responsible for them, Rebekah and Kol are to be responsible for them. Your job is to try and not kill all the teenagers that get on your nerves.”

“Bella darling!” Kol said entering. “I was looking for you; I need your assistance.”

Bella raised an eyebrow. “Assistance on what?”

“Rebekah insists that I need a costume.” Kol said in annoyance. “I don’t want to deal with one of her tantrums.”

“Why do you need me? I thought Rebekah already chose your costume?” Bella responded not understand what his urgency in this matter was.

“She wants for me to dress up as a cowboy. Come on, darling, you know me better than that.” Kol said crossing his arms over his chest in annoyance. “Do you know how ridiculous I’ll look in a hat?”

Bella moved and looked up at Elijah, asking him a silent question if he minded if she went. She smiled as he kissed the side of her head. “Fine, Kol, but I’m expecting a very large thank you after this.”

“Whatever you wish, darling.” Kol said exiting the room with Bella at his side.

Klaus leaned back in his desk chair and stared at his older brother. “Have you bought a ring for her?”

Elijah smirked, “Niklaus, why are you so curious?”

“I feel that it is necessary for me to know everything that occurs in this house.” Klaus responded, “I’m also very impatient and I think you need to hurry up and ask her to marry you already.”

Elijah chuckled, “I believe you should be worrying on what may or may not happen to this home within the next few hours.”

“You need to get your sister under control.” Klaus responded in annoyance.

“She’s your sister as well.” Elijah responded amused.

“Not at the moment.” Klaus responded closing the book he was looking through. “Once this party is over and the house is set back to normal, she will return to be my sister again. Until then, she is your sister.”

Elijah rolled his eyes, “I believe this is better than the attitude she had before. How many times have we not had to stop her from killing any boy who angers her? Not to mention the countless times she’s attempted to turn one of her lovers into a vampire. She hasn’t once attempted to create a vampire, I say this is better than before.”

Klaus sighed, “It is a remarkable achievement to know that she hasn’t tried to turn one of her toys into a vampire.”

Bella sighed in exasperation, Kol at time was worse than Rebekah when it came to making decisions. “I have an idea.”

Kol turned to look at her in annoyance. “Now? After you’ve had me in over 50 stupid costumes.”

Bella shrugged, “I just happened to remember that you have fangs. Kol, just walk around with your vampire face on, no one is going to care and it’s going to be the easiest thing for you to do. You don’t even have to put on any costume clothes, you can wear what you have on now.”

Kol smirked, “I knew there was a reason I liked you, darling.”

Bella rolled her eyes and stood, “I’m going to go find, Eli.”

“Hold on a second, darling.” Kol said stopping her before she could leave the room. “You are aware that Rebekah is going to ask that you wear a costume.”

Bella rolled her eyes, “She can’t force me to wear a costume if she doesn’t find me before the party.”

Kol chuckled, “She’s approaching.”

Bella turned to the window, she jumped out and landed almost perfectly outside the kitchen door. She walked back inside the house and to her delight Elijah was already there. “Helping Kol is more exhausting than I thought it would be.”  Bella said smiling as Elijah handed her a cup of blood. She jumped up and sat down on the counter beside Elijah.

“I would imagine so, my love.” Elijah responded moving to stand in front of her. “Did he finally find something?”

Bella nodded, “I told him just to walk around with his vampire face on. I figured that would be one of the best things for him to do. Kol is pickier than Nik, and that is just astounding.”

Elijah chuckled, “And has Rebekah already asked you to wear a costume?”

Bella shook her head, “I don’t want to be rude and say no, so I’m just going to avoid her until it’s too late.” She set her glass down and wrapped her arms around Elijah’s neck bringing him in just a little closer. She smiled and closed the distance between them attaching her lips to his.

Bella’s hold on him tightened and she smiled as he pulled her impossibly closer. Her legs moving to wrap around his waist as their kiss only deepened.

“May I interrupt?” Rebekah’s voice said from the entryway of the kitchen.

Elijah sighed. “If you must.” He responded gently setting Bella back down on the counter. He didn’t move away from her or turn to look at his sister.

“I need you both in costumes.” Rebekah said feeling slightly embarrassed that she interrupted an obviously intimate moment between her brother and Bella.

Bella sighed and smiled and Elijah. “Rebekah, I support what you’re doing tonight, but I am not going to wear a costume.”

Rebekah sighed, “I suppose you feel the same way, Elijah?”

“Yes.” Elijah responded simply.

“Fine.” Rebekah said crossing her arms over her chest. “My apologies for disturbing you.”

Bella laughed lightly once Rebekah was gone. “She didn’t put up much of a fight.”

“I believe she was embarrassed that she interrupted us.” Elijah responded he pushed a stray strand of hair behind her ear. “First time in a very long time that we have been able to embarrass Rebekah.”

Bella smiled, “It was her fault for interrupting.”

Bella leaned against the railing beside Klaus. “Nik.” She said softly catching his attention. “On a scale from one to ten, how uncomfortable is this making you feel?”

Klaus chuckled, “Far more than just a ten.”

Bella laughed lightly. “Eli isn’t enjoying this either. He’s currently trying to stop Kol from draining half the cheerleading team.”

“I can’t blame Kol for trying to kill them, their annoying laughter makes me want to kill them as well.” Klaus responded in annoyance as once again the giggling filled the room.

“Nik, try not to kill them, I’m tired and I don’t feel like trying to stop you.” Bella said with a smile. “Are you thirsty? I need a drink; do you want one as well?”

“I’d hurry, love.” Klaus said with a smirk. “I may or may not kill those obnoxious girls.”

Bella smiled, “Just try and be discreet when you do it, and I’ll deny knowing of your intentions.” Bella responded as she made her way to the kitchen. She reached into the very back of the fridge and grabbed a blood bag. She grabbed two glasses and ripped open the blood bag pouring half of it into each glass. She jumped slightly as she felt someone’s hand graze her lower back. She turned around and came face to face with a dark haired teenage boy.

“Nice ass, baby. What are dressed up as?” The boy said advancing on her.

Bella’s body flooded with fear as she got the same feeling she felt when she was stuck in that room with Mike Newton. Before she knew it he was standing directly in front of her, his hand on her hip and his breath of alcohol filling her surroundings. She didn’t think as her hand reached out and wrapped around his throat. “You don’t get to touch me.” She hissed as tiny veins surrounded her eyes and her fangs lengthened. All she could think about was sinking her fangs into his neck and killing him, letting his blood flow down her throat. Despite knowing the pain it would cause, she wanted to feed from him and kill him.

Bella squeezed his neck tighter as memories of that night filled her head, and it was as if she was reliving it all over again. Bella closed her eyes as she felt Elijah’s presence was right behind her. She felt him brush away the hair from her shoulder. He gently kissed her neck before moving to whisper into her ear. “Release him, my love. You do not want to kill him.”

Elijah’s hand travelled and moved over hers, he felt her fingers loosen and he let the boy fall to the ground. He turned her around in his arms and pressed her to his chest. “It’s alright, my love.” Elijah saw the young boy begin to regain consciousness.

Bella pulled back and wiped her eyes. “I…” she looked to the boy on the floor and shook her head. “I think I need some air.”

Elijah nodded, “I’ll take care of the boy, there’s no need to worry my love.”

Bella turned around and headed to the back door. “I’m sorry, Eli.” She disappeared before Elijah could argue her apology.

Elijah picked the boy up by the collar of his shirt. “You’ve made the worst mistake of your life when you touched her.” Elijah went to snap his neck only to have his brother stop him.

“You know as well as I do that if Bella finds out he died she will blame herself.” Klaus said forcing his brother to release the boy. “Go, find her and make sure she’s not feeling guilty. I feel that her attitude is at its worse when she’s guilt ridden.”

Elijah sighed and released the boy. “Get him out of here.” Elijah ordered before he left the house. Once outside he caught her scent and knew that she had gone to her home. He blurred to her home seeing her on the roof of her house.

Bella tilted her head to the side as she saw Elijah move to sit beside her. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to let my emotions get the better of me in there. It wasn’t fair to have you clean up after my mess.”

Elijah didn’t respond, instead he gently picked her up and set her down in his lap. Her head resting perfectly on his shoulder as he held her tightly. “Isabella, you did what any normal vampire would have done. You’re still in your first year as a vampire, your emotions are heightened. You were bound to do something like this, it is highly normal.”

Bella shook her head. “I wanted to kill him, Eli. I wanted to sink my fangs into his neck and drain him. I knew how much it would hurt me, but I wanted to hurt him more.” She pressed her forehead into his neck and took in a deep breath, his scent washing over her entire being. “I felt like I was reliving that night in Forks and I wanted nothing more than to make him pay. What does that say about me, Eli?”

“That you’re a normal newborn vampire, Isabella.” Elijah responded he ran his hand through her hair. “You are a vampire, a creature that is meant to kill. Your instincts to kill is natural, and the more you fight it, the worse this life is going to be for you. I do not believe you should kill everyone that angers you like Niklaus and Kol do, but you shouldn’t force yourself to feel guilt over something that is now in your DNA.”

“It’s scary, Eli.” Bella said softly. “Knowing how capable I am of killing, and how I can justify it to myself.”

Elijah nodded, “Taking a life is difficult, but at times, it is something that we need to do in order to keep our own sanity. I may not kill as often as my siblings, but I do still kill and that is something I doubt will ever change. You are going to take a life, my love, and that is something you must learn to accept as it is something that is inevitable.”

“Will you still love me if I do?” Bella whispered anxiously.

“I will love you no matter what occurs in the future.” Elijah responded. “There is nothing that will ever change the way I feel for you, Isabella.”

Bella sighed, “I love you, Elijah.”

-Page Break-

Bella entered the house once all the teenagers had left. She looked to Elijah with a smile, “I’m going to head up to your bedroom. I’ll let you see how things ended.”

Bella made her way into Elijah’s room and removed her jacket, she had rarely been in here. Most of the time he slept with her in her home, but tonight was different. She walked over to his closet grabbing one of his shirts that she could sleep in. Quickly changing Bella looked around his room, he was so incredibly neat it amazed her. Grabbing her clothes, she went to put them in his hamper, but sighed as she bumped into his dresser knocking off a few of his things.

Sighing Bella put the clothes in the hamper and leaned down to pick up all the trinkets she dropped on the floor. Bella’s eyes widened as she picked up the open ring box, “Oh.” She said in surprise as she looked at the large ring in the box.

Shaking her head, she closed the box and put it back in its place. She walked towards the bed unsure of what to really think about the ring. Was he planning on asking her to marry him? Was that something that was on his mind? Bella shook her head not needing to overthink this like her mind was telling her to do. Instead, she lifted the covers of the bed and crawled in settling herself just in the middle.

As much as she tried to get her mind away from that little box, she couldn’t help but to think of it. Would she say yes if he asked? Bella took in a deep breath trying to calm her overthinking mind, this wasn’t something she needed to be thinking about.

Bella relaxed into the bed as an answer came to mind. Yes. She would say yes if he asked, because she knew there was no one but Elijah for her.
